Recruiter Road Trip

.

Around campus, the reminder that "we are all recruiters" is a common topic of conversation. At nearly every get-together, we have talked about different ways that we can help recruit God's people to NBC. The month of February has been a great month for recruiting. Dr. Janyne McConnaughey (Director: Christian School Education Program) and Scott McConnaughey (Online Department Office Manager/Admissions Counselor) traveled over 1,500 miles to recruit men and women of God. Here is a brief index into their fulfilling journey to the South.

During their journey, they were greeted with a genuine southern hospitality that we have all heard about. They went to the Birmingham ACSI Convention where they met with students, graduates, and prospects. They gave out information to prospective CSE students and helped them better understand the passion that NBC has for our students' education.

They attended the Midland Valley Community Church of the Nazarene service, where they met with the Pastor of the church and director of the academy, got a tour of the church and school, and returned that evening for the church's Super Bowl gathering.

They also toured the Evangeline Booth College, the Salvation Army Augusta Kroc Center, Augusta Christian Schools, Integrity Christian School (Snellville, GA), and New Hope Christian School (Grovetown, GA), and Eastside Christian School (Marietta, GA). At these schools they had the opportunity to visit our graduates, share our vision and mission with teachers and administrators, and connect with potential students.

Part of their plan was to understand the world of the students who come to our program from the Southeast. They made many contacts as a result of this trip and in the eleven days they were there, Nazarene Bible College was introduced to numerous people who had never heard of our college. Scott and Janyne were on a mission to make connections for NBC, but they also wanted to understand the area, and get a feel for our students' everyday lives. We are thankful for their faithfulness and of course that they made it back to us safely.
