Ordination
Goal
To provide a threshold level of education for completing the denominational course of study (COS) for ordination as elder in the Church of the Nazarene. NBC is approved by the Church of the Nazarene International Board of Education for training leaders toward ordination or commission in the ministries of the Church of the Nazarene. We also provide the NBC/Alliance and Nazarene Modular Program completely online for your convenience and at a cost that cannot be beat.
Certificate Program
A Program Certificate is given to those who successfully complete all 24 courses at NBC. In addition, a Certificate of Completion is given for all courses completed that may be presented to a district board of ministerial studies. This program is designed to help a person complete all the Nazarene alliance and module courses required for ordination or to complete individual courses needed to finish the education requirements for ordination.
Note To receive a certificate of completion for the program or courses, a student must receive at least a "C" in each class.
The PLUS
NBC offers the NBC/Alliance and Nazarene Modular courses with a PLUS factor. Each Modular Plus Course will be augmented by requiring textbooks, college learning activities, and college-level evaluation of student.
Earn a Degree
Upon completion of the Ministry Preparation Program (or at any time), individuals may enter the regular NBC campus or online program and earn a Bachelor of Arts in Ministry degree.
Accreditation
Nazarene Bible College is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), a commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, 2006 and the Commission on Accreditation of the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE), 1976. Both the Regional and National Associations are members of the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and approved by the United States Department of Education.
