Pikes Peak Home School Band
Overview
Pikes Peak Home School Band provides band classes for home schooled children ages 9 through high school. A huge benefit of this Home School Band is that it fills a void for home-schooled children. Students receive the opportunity to learn and play band instruments in an educational environment with their peers. In addition, these students receive more individual instruction and personal attention than in a regular school setting.
Lessons take place in Oliver Hall Music Building, located on the beautiful campus of the Nazarene Bible College. The bands rehearse two days a week with unique time slots for students in different skill levels. Currently there are bands for beginning players, intermediate students who have at least one year of playing experience, and advanced players. Two concerts are held each year during Fall and Winter that are free of charge and open to the public. For more information, please contact Bill Callen.
The Pikes Peak Home School Band was founded in 2001 by Director of over 10 years, Bill Callen. His passion for the Pikes Peak Home School Band has made this program a blessing for countless home schoolers around the greater Colorado Springs area. He holds an M.A. In Music Education and has over 40 years of experience in instruction on; flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, French horn, trombone, euphonium, tuba, and percussion.
