President Emeritus of Nazarene Bible College Conferred

Dr. Jerry D. Lambert served as the college’s third president from 1984 until his election in 1994 as Commissioner of the International Board of Education for the Church of the Nazarene. He served in that capacity until his retirement in 2008.

In his concluding remarks of the 2007 IBOE self-study report Dr. Lambert wrote, “. . . today the Nazarene global system of higher education is alive and well and effective. Quality, innovation, creativity, and achievement are at work. The future of the Church of the Nazarene is being shaped in our educational entities today and, from my perspective that future looks bright. I salute our educators everywhere and thank you for the work you are doing for the Christ our Lord.”

Those words capture Dr. Lambert’s service to Nazarene higher education. Dr. Alan Lyke remarked, “Quality, innovation, creativity, and achievement have been at work in your service to the church. The future of the Church of the Nazarene has been shaped through your influence on its educational entities. And so we salute you and thank you for the work you have done, and are doing, for the Christ our Lord."

Dr. Jerry Lambert was recognized as President Emeritus for his 10 years of faithful service to the college.
