Honorary Doctorate of Divinity Awarded to Rev. Norman Moore

Evangelist Norman Moore was raised in Pueblo, Colorado. As a boy he was invited to ride a church bus to Sunday School at a Church of the Nazarene in Pueblo. Through the ministry of that church, he became a Christian and was called to preach at the age of eleven.  After graduating from high school, he went west to California and received his ministerial training at Pasadena College, now Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego. He also studied at California Graduate School of Theology in Glendale, California.

He served three years as youth pastor and seven years as senior pastor in southern California. Norman was ordained in 1973.

In 1979, he organized Norman Moore Ministries, Inc., a non-profit evangelistic association.  He has served as an evangelist in the Church of the Nazarene for 38 years.  His ministry is provided in local church revivals, multiple-church area-wide crusades, camp meetings, universities, retreats, missions, and through radio and television. His objectives in ministry are to win the lost to Jesus Christ, assist the Christian in sanctified discipleship, lead the Church in genuine revival, and encourage the pastor and spouse in their ministries.

He has preached in more than 1,130 revivals in 45 states and 3 foreign countries. He averages preaching 200 sermons a year. Through the years, he has been an advocate for the ministry of Nazarene Bible College, sending students, encouraging alumni, and preaching in NBC chapel services 17 times.

In 2016, Point Loma Nazarene University recognized Rev. Moore with a Distinguished Achievement Award.

Norman resides with his wife, Vickie, in Arizona.  They have a married daughter, Nickie. Norman Moore’s winsome and pragmatic message of holiness has ministered to thousands of people through the years. He is a willing servant of our Lord, giving his life freely to whomever calls and wherever the need might be. No place is too small, no person is too insignificant, no purpose too irrelevant, for the ministry of Norman Moore.

Norman Moore has lived an exemplary life of holiness, he has served the Church with distinction, and have given himself to the mission of Nazarene Bible College to evangelize, disciple, and minister to our world.

On September 27, 2016, the Nazarene Bible College Board of Trustees voted unanimously to award Rev. Norman L. Moore the Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree in recognition of his servant leadership, humble spirit, and faithfulness to the call of God.
