PSY4113 - Theory and Practice of Individual Counseling
This is the first theory course in a core sequence of three. Its purpose is to teach, from a Christian perspective, a comparative overview of thephilosophies, goals, and techniques of the eight major counseling theories as applies to individual counseling. In addition, the course will review professional ethics, issues and trends, and research in individual therapy.
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
- identify the philosophies, goals, and techniques of the major counseling theories as applied to individual therapy.
- demonstrate familiarity with current counseling literature.
- participate in a collaborative learning experience.
