PSY4111 - Laboratory in Individual Counseling
Laboratory in Individual Counseling is the first lab in a core sequence of three. Its purpose is to assist the student in acquiring and practicing basic counseling skills, including attending, observing, questioning, encouraging, paraphrasing, summarizing, reflecting feelings, and integrating listening skills.
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
- demonstrate the philosophies, goals, and techniques of the major counseling theories as applied to individual therapy.
- demonstrate the counseling skills listed in the course description.
- participate in a collaborative learning experience.
