PSY4211 - Laboratory in Group Counseling
Laboratory in Group Counseling is the second lab in a core sequence of three. Its purpose is to assist the student in acquiring and practicing basic counseling skills. Building on those learned in the first lab, this course adds the influencing skills of focusing, confronting, reflecting meaning, self-disclosing, and giving feedback. Particular emphasis is given to integrating counseling skills and using them in developing and leading groups.
At the conclusion of this course, you should be able to:
- demonstrate the philosophies, goals, and techniques of the major counseling theories as applied to group therapy.
- demonstrate the counseling skills listed in the course description.
