A Missional Approach to Education

The Mission

dCourseWeb is an integral part of Nazarene Bible College's purpose to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world. dCourseWeb is used to manage the online campuses of 25 other institutions and is offered as a service to the Church of the Nazarene colleges and universities in world regions outside of the United States.

Education without Boundaries

Nazarene Bible College is using dCourseWeb to train ministers, teach holiness, and touch lives across the world. In 2007, NBC began ministering to international Church of the Nazarene institutions of higher education out of a heart for missions and a desire to become a school without boundaries. This passion opened the doors for NBC's online education management program, dCourseWeb, to become instrumental in building online education programs designed to train ministers in secluded or large world regions where travel to a campus is difficult. Online ministerial training through dCourseWeb enables international Nazarene schools to train more pastors, more efficiently, and more thoroughly - for a fraction of the cost.

Impacting the World for Christ

dCourseWeb is offered to the international institutions of higher education in the Church of the Nazarene as an affordable education option that can be tailored to meet the cultural needs of each region. This online global learning community is training Nazarene ministers on six continents, impacting the world for Christ in areas that previously struggled to provide effective ministerial training. NBC's collaborative, online environment offers state-of-the-art technology that helps schools break through physical and technological barriers. Nazarene institutions of higher education around the world are experiencing greater access to their students as they train ministers using the dCourseWeb program. NBC makes this online global learning community available to Nazarene institutions of higher learning in answer to God's call to "go and make disciples of all nations" Matt. 28:19a.

Partnerships

Nazarene Bible College is grateful for the opportunity to partner with the institutions below. Our world outreach is serving the Church through developing primary and educational websites, providing administrator and instructor training, sharing resources, and offering free course content.

By partnering with these institutions NBC has been afforded the opportunity to fulfill our purpose: Nazarene Bible College exists to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world.

Nazarene Higher Education Consortium

The Nazarene Higher Education Consortium (NAHEC), a newly established institution of the Church of the Nazarene located at Manzini, Swaziland, aims to help all people (young or old) reach their desired academic and professional preparation. Knowing the challenges faced by many African people, NAHEC plans to introduce online education. With the help provided by the NBC's dCourse team and program, that goal will be achieved. Having heard our desire, NBC offered to sponsor and host NAHEC's website. Added to that, NBC offered to train the faculty for the online education. Currently, some of our faculties are taking EDU5093 - E-Learning Course Development. The course has been an eye-opener to us and we are determined to see our dream come true. Special thanks go to Rev. Angie Wetmore and Dr. David Phillips for their dedication in helping us set up the computers as well as their technical advice - to mention only a few. It has been a joy to work with NBC's dCourseWeb team. The team has become my family and friends.

Just a quick thanks to you and your wonderful team for assisting me in setting up a website for SPNTC. My two days of going through the system from an administrator's point of view was very helpful. You have such a supportive team in the office. Their willingness to help me was clearly a manifestation of their servant attitude. I am really grateful that I could have access to such a support group. I have seen what the Global Church is like with the way you and your team has worked with me.I look forward to sending more emails of inquiry to you and your team.
