Nazarene Bible College Welcomes New VP for Academic Affairs

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Gary Streit has accepted the appointment of Vice President for Academic Affairs. We are blessed that God lead us to such an experienced and spiritual leader. Members of the Nazarene Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees, which helps direct NBC's course, were on campus this week to conduct college business, meet with the college's cabinet, and meet with Dr. Streit. The Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees approved the appointment during the visit. Yesterday, Dr. Graves, our college president, made the official announcement.

Dr. Streit has served with distinction for many years in senior positions at institutions of higher education. His experience includes many years as a successful Provost (Senior Academic Administrator) and VP for Academic Affairs for Olivet Nazarene University, and three years as President of Malone University. Moreover, Dr. Graves said, "Additionally, he worked closely with the Church of the Nazarene International Board of Education in designing and implementing the missional review program. He participated in reviews at Korea Nazarene University, Africa Nazarene University, other Africa theological/nursing/education schools, and consulted at our new school in Brazil."

He has also been an instrumental member in key events and activities for the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). HLC is one of the major accreditation organizations for post-secondary educational institutions. Of course, NBC is accredited by HLC, as well as by The Association for Biblical Higher Education. Coincidentally, our former Executive Vice President and Academic Dean, Dr. Stelting, has also worked closely with HLC on developing accreditation standards.

In addition to success in his positions, Dr. Streit has earned impressive degrees. He has a Bachelor of Arts in English from Trevecca Nazarene University, a Master of Science in Education Psychology from the University of Tennessee, and a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in English Education from the University of Illinois.

We also want to welcome Dr. Streit's wife, Dr. Marla Streit, to the NBC family. Marla holds a Doctorate of Education (Ed.D.), and she was a much-loved professor at Olivet Nazarene University's School of Education for many years. We are certain she, also, will enjoy the lively climate in Colorado Springs, as well as the spiritual climate at Nazarene Bible College.

We are blessed to have such a wonderful couple join us. Going forward, we look forward to continuing to grow with the exceptional addition of Dr. Streit to NBC's leadership. We appreciate God's hand in this and all aspects of our Christian educational environment, and we look forward to continue fulfilling Our Mission in Christ's name.
