Nazarene Bible College Appoints Interim Chaplain

Nazarene Bible College, recognized for Christian education, appoints new Interim Chaplain

Nazarene Bible College, recognized for its dedication to Christian education, is currently going through several changes and transitions. When Dr. David Phillips announced his resignation to NBC, Dr. Alan Lyke was appointed as the new Dean for Online Education. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Lyke announced that he would remain our Bible Colleges Chaplain for the duration of the winter trimester before entirely stepping into to his new role. With that said, we are pleased to welcome and announce the appointment of Rev. Cindy D. Lamb who has joined our team as Interim Chaplain for NBC.

Rev. Lamb accepted this part-time assignment through the rest of our academic year while continually serving as Congregational Care Pastor at Springs First Church of the Nazarene. She has been a part of First Church since 2005. Currently, she oversees the ministry areas of prayer, compassion, pastoral care, and Prime Time Adults. For Rev. Lamb, sharing Christ with others comes naturally. Her greatest ministry passions are prayer, evangelism, and Christian writing. She uses these gifts to challenge people to maximize their talents, abilities, and spiritual gifts all for the glory of God. Naturally, NBC feels honored to provide a venue in which she can grow and flourish.

President Harold B. Graves Jr. officially introduced Rev. Lamb as Interim Chaplain during both the staff and students' chapel services on February 2, 2011. When she spoke she said, "I am truly honored to be a part of the NBC team. I really respect this place, I consider it Holy ground." The day after she moved to Colorado Springs in July of 2000, she came to NBC and prayed at Apostles Court. In prayer she said, "I don't know what you have planned for my life, but I say yes Lord, yes Lord, yes Lord". During this time of many transitions, keep in mind one of Rev. Lambs favorite verses, "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." Proverbs 3:5-6. So, on behalf of NBC, we are overjoyed to once again welcome Rev. Lamb to our family.
