Payroll Specialist

Work Schedule


40 hours weekly


Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm

Primary Duties

Payroll Processing

  • Process Semi-monthly Payroll
  • Responsible for New Hire information, orientation, data entry
  • Maintain Personnel Files/Forms
  • Print and Review Payroll Reports as needed, including 941 reports
  • Processing, verification and distribution of W-2
  • Manage data and payments for payroll benefits

Human Resources

  • Assist with employee benefit negotiations
  • Involved in open position posting and interview process
  • Process benefits related to retirees
  • Keep abreast of HR related activities and regulations

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Reconcile General Ledger Accounts related to payroll
  • Assist with Month-end Closing of A/P and A/R as needed
  • Assist with Year End Close and Audit as needed
  • Assist with Data Compiling for Reporting as needed
  • Other duties as assigned


  • A Christian whose faith and life are in harmony with the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene and the culture of Nazarene Bible College
  • College Degree or equivalent work experience
  • High Level of confidentiality
  • Experience with software usage including Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel.  The employee must be able to stand; reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb, balance bend or stoop.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to sit at a computer desk and use a computer keyboard and mouse without discomfort.
