Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs/Compliance Assistant

Work Schedule


40 hours weekly


Monday - Friday, 8 am – 5 pm, allowing one hour for lunch

Primary Duties

Support Nazarene Bible College’s mission “to glorify Jesus Christ as Lord by preparing adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world.”

As the Administrative Assistant for Academic Affairs, this person will:

Facilitate the Office of Academic Affairs’ effectiveness in the following areas:

  • Bookstore service liaison
  • Course offerings and teaching assignments
  • College graduation events
  • Faculty support as directed
  • Learning management system support as directed
  • Reports, records, and supportive correspondence
  • Student intervention programs
  • Student academic honors
  • Work in concert with Executive Assistant for Academic Affairs
  • Positive interaction between the Office of Academic Affairs and NBC students, faculty, and constituents

As the Compliance Assistant, this person will:

  • Coordinate compliance requirements for the institution as related to federal laws and regulations governing colleges and universities
  • Assist in the research and development of compliance policies and practices with regard to Title IX; Title IV; Clery; VAWA; and other related laws and regulations 
  • Interact with colleagues responsible for compliance issues
  • Act as resource for compliance requirements throughout institution
  • Collaborate on safety and security responsibilities
  • Research available outside resources to achieve needed compliance and training

Miscellaneous Duties

  • Assist as needed in various college functions 
  • Participate in assigned committees
  • Additional duties as assigned


  • A Christian whose faith and  life are in harmony with the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene and the culture of Nazarene Bible College
  • College degree and/or equivalent work experience 
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Experience with multiple software programs with emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel.  The employee must be able to stand, reach, walk, climb, balance, bend, or stoop.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to sit at a computer desk and use a computer keyboard and mouse without discomfort.
