NBC's Vice President for Enrollment Management

Dr. David Church spent 36 years at General Motors working as a trained mechanical engineer. During his career at GM, he worked in various supervisory, managerial, leadership, and consulting roles. His assignments with GM included working in Indianapolis; San Paulo, Brazil; and in Asia with home base in South Korea. Dr. Church felt a call to teach and preach as an adult and was later ordained in the Church of the Nazarene.

Dr. Church and his wife, Paula, moved from Seoul, Korea to Colorado Springs, and he became Nazarene Bible College’s Director of the Leadership and Ethics Degree Program in 2008.  He began his role as NBC’s Vice President for Enrollment Management in July of 2015.  During his time at NBC, Dr. Church has attended various events within the Church of the Nazarene including Pastor and Leaders Conferences (PALCONS), District Assemblies, Boards of Ministerial Study, and District Ministerial Candidate Assessment weekends to promote NBC enrollment and recruit students.

Under Dr. Church’s leadership, the Enrollment Management department has played a vital role in NBC’s transition from Colorado Springs to the Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, Kansas.  During the transition, the Enrollment Management department decreased in size from 13 to 11 employees. Of these 11 individuals, only one part-time employee continued with the same role as the previous year. In other words, the newly formed Enrollment Management team has 9 new employees. The Lenexa based employees have been hired, trained, and are working to further the mission of NBC.

The new Enrollment Management employees are helping to advance Dr. Church’s vision for the department and NBC: to become the leading provider of ministry preparation for adult students in the Church of the Nazarene.
