592 Boxes of Book Arrive at Africa Nazarene University

In this day of ever-changing paradigms in higher education, strategic partnerships are imperative. In 2017, NBC moved from a campus-based model to a totally online delivery system. The need to support an aging and costly campus was no longer necessary. NBC moved its administrative offices to the Church of the Nazarene’s Global Ministry Center in Lenexa, Kansas. The college partnered with MidAmerica Nazarene University, Olathe, Kansas for library services. The two libraries blended books needed to continue resourcing NBC students through the MNU library. Through Literature for Africa, NBC sent thousands of books in partnership with World Evangelism schools in Africa. We recently heard the following from Africa Nazarene University.

The School of Religion and Christian Ministry has just recently benefited from a large shipment of books. The books came from Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs which recently closed their campus in Colorado and has now moved to Lenexa, Kansas. The SRCM are grateful to have all of these books. They are now able to benefit from approximately 17,750 books and 592 boxes of books. Most of these books are in the area of the Bible, theology, Christian ministry, practical studies, and other subjects. They are grateful for these resources that have been recently added to the library. The added resources will enable students to research, having greater access with some of the best resources. On Thursday, October 17, the full-time faculty members and several students sorted through approximately 300 boxes. Most of these books will be preserved in the library. Now, the library staff will catalogue and enter them into the library. Thanks to Christian Literature for Africa, Nazarene Bible College, and the ANU Library staff! Rev. Gift Mtukwa, the Chair of the Religion Department of ANU, said, “We are excited about these books being added to our library! They will become a great addition to the resources for the future for research within our school.”
