NBC Faculty Have Articles Published

NBC faculty and program directors, Dr. Thomas King and Dr. Daniel Powers, each had articles published in the Fall 2019 edition of Illustrated Bible Life. This is a companion publication to the Adult Sunday School quarterly that is published by The Foundry of the Church of the Nazarene.

The articles are intended to give some extra background in the general area of each week’s focus in the adult Sunday school lesson. Dr. King’s article entitled “Clean and Unclean” provided extra background information to the lesson on the conversion of Cornelius in Acts 10. As you will remember, Peter saw a vision in which he was asked to kill and eat animals that are considered to be unclean. Dr. King’s article helps to explain what “clean and unclean” mean. Dr. Power’s article was entitled “Peter After Pentecost,” and it accompanied the lesson on Acts 12 in which Peter played a major role in the story. Since chapter 12 is the last passage in which Peter appears as the “main character” in Acts, the article was meant to reflect on the changes in Peter’s life we can see before and after Pentecost.
