Two Positions Open at NBC Lenexa

Job Title:        Controller

Department:   Finance

Reports to the Vice President for Finance                                       

Work Schedule:  40 hours weekly    Schedule: Mon – Fri 8:00am – 5:00pm 

Location:        Administrative Offices – Lenexa, Kansas

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Management

  • Supervise Business Office Staff
  • Interact with other departments in regards to Business Office issues
  • Assist/Support VP for Finance
  • Assist in providing direction on current compliance related to Business Office issues
  • Set on committees as assigned

Accounting

  • Provide monthly financial reports for Cabinet
  • Provide financial data as needed for external use (IPED, IBOE, HLS ABHE)
  • Oversee and review all Month-End Processes
  • Responsible for Bank, Credit Card, A/R, General Ledger Reconciliations
  • Oversee Maintenance of Student Accounts (see details below)
  • Maintain cash flow analysis
  • Transfer funds between bank accounts at bank
  • Work with President’s Executive Assistance regard recording Donor activity
  • Assist with Year End Close & Annual Audit
  • Responsible for overseeing Year End Tax Forms (1098T, 1099& W-2)
  • Great Plains (Accounting Software) Resource Person
  • CAM Billing Module Resource Person For Finance Module

Student Accounts Receivable:

  • Manage all student account activity including but not limited to responsibility for oversight/completion of the following:
  • Financial Responsibility and Payment Arrangement spreadsheets
  • Maintaining daily credit card report
  • Verification of payment, financial aid and tuition/fee batches
  • Process requests for refunds, transfers and assistance
  • Approve Financial Agreements and Potter Loans for students
  • Scheduled mailing of A/R statements
  • Collections on delinquent accounts
  • Interaction with financial aid director in matters related to student accounts
  • Interact with outsourced bookstore service in matters related to finance

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES:

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A Christian whose faith and life are in harmony with the doctrine of the Church of the Nazarene and the culture of Nazarene Bible College
  • College Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or equivalent work experience
  • High Level of confidentiality
  • Experience with software usage including Microsoft Office Suite

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required talk, hear, and use hands to handle or feel.  The employee must be able to stand; reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk, climb, balance bend or stoop.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must be able to sit at a computer desk and use a computer keyboard and mouse without discomfort.

Job Title:        Accountant Clerk

Department:   Business Office - Reports to Bursar                              

Work Schedule:  20-28  hours weekly    Schedule: Mon – Fri

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Accounts Payable Processing

  • Verify and process all accounts payables
  • Cams Batch Posting & integrations into Great Plains Accounting System
  • Process 1099 forms annually

Other Accounts Receivable Duties:

  • Post invoices/payments from dCW-Online Colleges
  • Post miscellaneous cash receipts
  • Review and Post Donor batches

Accounting

  • Maintain Cash Flow Analysis
  • Process Adjusting/Correcting Journal Entries
  • Enter month end journal entries
  • Reconcile Bank Accounts
  • Reconcile General Ledger Accounts
  • Oversee Petty Cash
  • Input and Export/Import Annual Budget
  • Assist with Year End Close and Audit as needed

MISCELLANEOUS DUTIES:

  • Make Bank Deposits
  • Assist with Student Account Collections
  • Other duties as required
