The Potential of 5,000
NBC’s closest denominational partner is the Church of the Nazarene, and because of this, we began to sift through the basic regional, district, and local church statistics from Research Services of the Church of the Nazarene. By learning more about local and district licensed Nazarene ministers in USA/Canada, NBC is better able to understand its current role in helping prepare adults to evangelize, disciple, and minister to the world.
Over the past five years in USA/Canada, there has been a decrease in the number of men and women who have received local and district minister’s licenses. Although this chart shows decline, if we look at it in another way, the graph also shows that there are over 5,000 individuals in USA/Canada with minister’s licenses. In other words, this means there are over 5,000 people who have expressed a call to ministry. They need theological education and training to be faithful to that call. NBC stands ready to prepare these 5,000 new ministers.
