For Every Animal of the Forest are His, and the Cattle on a Thousand Hills

The One Who Calls Also Provides

It’s a wintry day here at my home.  All of Kansas City is covered in a layer of ice. The Nazarene Global Ministry Center is closed, an airplane has slid off the runway at Kansas City International Airport, and NBC’s staff have had to cancel important informational trips to Nazarene districts.

I am fortunate! I am sitting at home in my easy chair reflecting on Exodus 19:5. It reads, “Now therefore, if you obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be my treasured possession out of all the peoples. Indeed, the whole earth is mine.” In recent days, I have become concerned about the resources available to fund the mission I am called to accomplish. Intellectually, I know that He owns everything, I know that He has directed my path, and I know that He will indeed fund the mission here at NBC.  It is all His work! However, my faith and emotions need to be bolstered through His Spirit and the Word.

I am reminded of His words “the whole earth is mine.” I assume that some of you, like me, need to be reminded that the God who CALLS also PROVIDES. He knows us, He loves us, He has the exact resources we need, and He will provide for us if we “obey my voice and keep my covenant.”

I pray His favor will rest on you and your ministry today.
