Your friend, Our friend
Your friend, Our friend

You've Got A Friend

One of my favorite songs from the 1970’s was “You’ve Got A Friend.” The song was written by Carole King and recorded by both King and James Taylor. According to author James D. Perone, the song’s themes include an expression of a “universal, sisterly/brotherly, love of one human being for another.” The song’s messages of friendship having no boundaries and a friend being there when you are in need has universal appeal.[1]

It is important for Nazarene Bible College students to know that you are considered our friends. Did you know that we are made aware of your needs through your advisors or Dr. Gary Haines? We care deeply about your calling, and we pray for you. Every Wednesday morning at 10:00 a.m. Central Time, we bring your needs to God in prayer. I want you to know, above all else, you’ve got a friend at NBC.

Perhaps you’ve got a friend that we can help with their calling and education. Our best advocates are our alumni and current students. During this international pandemic, you know students who are not able to return to their college or university campus. Did you know that NBC can help them with general study courses, as well as Bible and theology classes? We would like to be their friend and help them continue their education without interruption from COVID-19.

With your help, your friend can become our friend as well. Just a reminder:

            Winter, spring, summer, or fall,

All you have to do is call.

            And we’ll be there.

            You’ve got a friend.

Thankfully,

Harold B. Graves Jr.

President
