God Has Won the Battle

Those who love sports watch the games with passion and expectation wondering which team will win. One never knows until the end of the game who will win, because there are sometimes unexpected plays that propel the losing team forward to a victory.

It is similar in the Christian life. There are all types of tough spots along our journey. We wonder how we will make it. We can’t see the end or how the situation will play out. Life can get like watching sports, with nail biting, anxiety, and tension.

However, as Christians, sometimes we experience the surprise play, played out by our God. I have heard many times my boss, President Harold Graves Jr., call it the “God factor.” God resolves the issue in His perfect time and way.

If we are in the middle of a spiritual battle, we know His promises to be true:

  • What a privilege to know there is victory in Jesus! He that is in us, is greater than any issue of life we face.

“You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world” (1 John 4:4).

  • What peace we have to know that nothing can separate us from the love of God, even during the most difficult situations of life.

“…in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Romans 8:37).

  • And facing the evils in this world, we know that the God of peace is with us.

“The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet” (Romans 16:20).

We have God’s precious promises to rely on as we live within the game of life.
