Highlights from the General Board

Two highlights from the General Board of the Church of the Nazarene Meetings on February 26-March 1, 2021 were the Nazarene Missionary Commissioning Service and the Retirement Service.

The Church of the Nazarene’s Global Missions office recommended 24 missionaries for commissioning during the 97th General Board held February 28th virtually. The places they serve are Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Guatemala, Mongolia, Panama, Papa New Guinea, Paraguay, Thailand, Tongas, and Sao Tome.

These missionaries have a life call to be a missionary and are willing to go where the church needs them. Their assignments are strategic and in diverse settings around the world.

Another special event during the BGS meetings was the recognition service of retiring missionaries which was also held virtually. Global Missions director, Vern Ward III, expressed his love and appreciation to the 8 couples for their years of dedication and service to God, the church, and all those they impacted through their ministry. The 8 couples had a combined 414 years of service to God through the Church of the Nazarene.

The places they served were Argentina, Global Missions, Ecuador, Jesus Film Harvest Partners Kenya, Madagascar, Papa New Guinea, Philippines, South Africa, Thailand, and Uganda.
