God Has Promised To Provide

"The Lord your God has blessed you in all the work of your hands. He has watched over your journey through this vast desert. These forty years the Lord your God has been with you, and you have not lacked anything." (Deuteronomy 2:7)

As Moses is recounting here the way in which God had provided for His people, he was doing so in hindsight. The 40 years were over. They were on the edge of the Promised Land. God had been with them and seen them through. It is so important that you learn to have foresight as clear as hindsight. The Holy Spirit is with you. He has promised “to speak to you what he hears and to show you what is yet to come” (John 16:13). He has the capability of giving you the foresight you need as a follower of His.

In your work as God’s leader, here is a wonderful promise God has given you to claim in Deuteronomy 2:7. When you are certain of God's call, you can be sure that He will bless the work of your hands!  He will watch over your journey, no matter what kind of difficulties or "deserts" you may be called to face. While you are going through them, there may be times you will be tempted to feel that you lack a thing or two. But as you continue to be led by the Holy Spirit, you will always find that God will provide what you need in your work serving Him. You will discover from personal experience that His promises are true for you!

Remember the words of Jesus; "Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear" (Matthew 6:25). "Our God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). If you continue to pursue the call of God to do what He is calling you to do, you will realize and discover, just like Moses did, that all the while, "God has been with you, you have not lacked anything" (Deuteronomy 2:7). Keep this clear foresight always in mind; God has promised to provide!

What a joy it is to serve with you. If there is any way we as a District can serve you better, please let us know. Thank you for your commitment to keep learning and serving so well on the Chicago Central District. Let’s continue to be Christ in Action this week.  You are loved.
