Armed Forces Day 2010

As some of our faculty and staff members may know, the third Saturday of May has been designated as United States Armed Forces Day. This holiday was designed to show appreciation and to honor the men and women of the United States Armed Forces. This year, Armed Forces Day is on May 16, 2009.

As you know, Colorado Springs is home to several military installations who continue to fight for our freedom. This includes military personnel who are ministering on the battlefield and at home. Military chaplains and their assistants, known as a Unit Ministry Team, minister to the broken, wounded, and lost in the name of Jesus Christ.

Please join Nazarene Bible College for the second annual Armed Forces Day Chaplains' Appreciation event. We will be providing baked goods, handwritten cards, and an NBC water bottle for all of the local military chaplains and their assistants. The number of local chaplains has grown considerably over the past year. If you would like to participate in this ministry by writing a card, contributing $1.00, which will cover the cost of the water bottle, and providing goodies, please send an email to me at slyoung@nbc.edu by May 5. When I receive your request, I will provide further instructions for this event.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Scotty Young at 884-5096.
