For Nazarenes Called to Missions

Have you ever felt called to be a missionary? This week, we hosted the Cross Cultural Orientation workshop, which offered key steps to get started. It was held on-campus in Powers Hall, and it packed indispensible information into a 2-day interactive seminar. As a professional school of Christian ministry, this is a critical part of NBC's commitment to a missional philosophy.

Every year, Mission Corps, a Nazarene worldwide outreach, conducts workshops at Nazarene colleges and universities nationwide. At this NBC-hosted event, there were attendees from 5 states, including some NBC campus students. Participants took part in role-playing and educational exercises to increase their effectiveness at overcoming cultural differences. According to Dr. Alan Lyke, our College Chaplain, one attendee is headed to Peru at the end of March. His experience at the workshop will, undoubtedly, come in quite handy.

Mission Corps is part of the Nazarene Global Mission. According to the International Church of the Nazarene, there are about 365,000 Nazarene Missionaries worldwide. This is a tribute to the Nazarene philosophy of bringing Christ to the world. Part of this effort is the "Jesus" film. This film is shown by Nazarenes, and others, all over the world. It's had a miraculous, life-changing affect on millions of people over the last 30 years, which is a testament to the power of God working in our midst.

Whether locally, nationally, or internationally, the Nazarene philosophy rings as true today as it ever has – make Christ's words available to everyone. We ask God that "He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" Mark 4:23. As per Nazarene Bible College purpose statement, we are humbled to be able to help serve this mission by "preparing adults to evangelize, disciple and minister to the world."
